Throughout my academic career and work experience, I have learned that I am an excellent communicator with top level skills in time management, organization, and working collaboratively. This realization shifted the paradigm of where my life and career were headed and I am grateful for every opportunity and experience that has come my way.
My passion for nonprofit work began when I was in middle school. I recall volunteering through my church with the Meals on Wheels program, and I was moved by the amount of assistance that was needed in my community - a community I perceived to not be in need of such help. Through the years, I have cultivated this passion into meaningful and long-lasting professional relationships with various organizations including New Hope Pet Rescue, The Detroit Children's Center, Habitat For Humanity, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washtenaw County.
For the past 9 years, I have been employed with Barton Malow, one of Michigan's (and the nation's) largest general contracting and building firms. I have worked as both a project coordinator and risk management analyst with Barton Malow. Both of these positions have given me a vast working knowledge of the construction industry.
I have a BA in Communications and an MS in Integrated Marketing and Communications from Eastern Michigan University with a cumulative GPA of 4.0. I hope to use my MS IMC degree to help Barton Malow, or another company, reach it's future marketing goals and ensure their continuous culture development.
I currently reside in Howell, MI with my husband and five four-legged children.
